About Steve Sekellick

I had the pleasure of working with Steve Sekellick…

… on a Thrive DC brochure and logo enhancement project recently. Steve did a fantastic job producing the artwork for both the brochure and logo. He met deadlines on time, offered creative suggestions to enhance the final products and was highly professional throughout the project. As a result of Steve’s role, Thrive DC has a high quality brochure and updated logo that will serve our organization into the future.

I’m pleased to have the opportunity to recommend Steve as a dependable, knowledgeable, skilled graphic production specialist.

It all started…

… after borrowing my father’s camera, and my mother’s camcorder; I was hooked, but I was a bit too young for such an instrument of my own. I was lucky enough to have two photography classes in high school, while Corel Painter and Photoshop happen to be part of the technology curriculum. In my TV Productions classes, I was creating compelling, and silly, documentary films, while pushing the limits of the analog and digital technologies.

Even after collage I continued to think outside the box, in design, animation, typography, illustration, sound design, video, some special effects, and I keep pushing myself to see the output from experimenting with crafting in new ways on my own.

I’v been lead graphic designer, camera man, wedding photographer, photo editor, printer, and other positions. I now work 38 hours per week with Howard County Recreation & Parks as a Graphic Designer, Photographer, and Videographer. I also freelance graphic design, photograph, videograph, for different special events, campaigns, publications, portrait shoots, along with real-estate photography and many weddings.

With a bachelors degree of Visual Arts in Graphic Design from University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), I am proud to have been continuously working in the arts with graphics since before my graduation.

I am officially named as a Google Master Photographer by the company.

I love what I do and have learned so much from working with people during my countless photography and video shoots. The first and best piece of advice I could give anyone when having their photo taken is to prepare to have fun. It should be just as fun to be in front of the camera as it is behind it. Trust me.
